I've gone back to an idea I had a few months ago. A child, lead out of this world by her mother, who stayed with her untill the very end. I doubt I will have time to finish this in time, but I sure hope so.

Wowie, thanks you guys, I never had quite so much replies in such a short period of time. This surely works motivating, because I always seem to struggle with composition and lighting. I hope I get my horse finished quickly, so I can start on this, can't wait to do some cloth sim :)
Awesome start! I love the concept, very emotional. Looking forward to your work, and the cloth sim!

I love the sketch you have there. I don't know...maybe you should put your kick arse horse to the side and start working on this piece. :)
Hope I'm not being too pushy to really see this piece to completion.

I've been wanting to use the same wrong proportions I used for the body. I hope I can put a distinct style in this piece, which I've never even tried before. I might change the shapes a bit in concept, but most likely, they will evolve in 3D.
The emotion on the mother's face will be sorta like this. It's very basic I know, just wanted to post something.

Heya everyone, thanks for the great comments, I've sorta finished my horsey, needs more work, but I'm keeping it shelved for a while. I'm happy to announce I started working on the challenge some more ^^
It really is a challenge for me, those proportions are damn hard to get right, but I like the struggle and will no doubt learn from this.

The challenge is to Put it out and really pull through. It wouldn't be a challenge if it was easy...
Your work looks very promising. Dig the gloom.

See you tomorow dude!

heya guys, thanks for the compliments, greatly appreciated, I surely hope to pull through!
Nico, you just underestimate the importance of concept. I never did any concept, till a few months back and starting with a finished mood, composition, is the only way to get results you want... Sure you can skip it (not for the challenge though, you have to submit at least one, you need all the milestones) but then you won't know for sure if you get where you wanted to get... At the studio we work like that, and there's plenty of remodeling going on :)

I just hope i don't need more :argh:
Maybe if i'm having trouble :hmm:
who knows.
I'm sure as hell learning a lot now.
