nice, i think you texture could use some bump. hummm, the model kicks ass but i think its the shader thats thowing me off, other than the text, and the shader you model rocks man.

i agree with tha shader. looks too 3d.

hey did you noticed in harry potters movie that dobby even had subsurface scattered ears and skin. very subtile effect.

Well seeing dobby in Harry potter is what made me want to model a little troll like character but he´s actually inspired by a drawing from Alan Lee in the book Faeries wich is great for inspiration by the way.
I acctually tried a harder bump but that did not look so great. I think that we notice it more clearly when axamining a character up close and not in its environment. Look at how little bump a human has on film after makeup and camera filters. They look allmost smooth, and the fact that most of our own characters wont be shown on anything bigger than a computer monitor, and probobly not in close up I think its a waste of time trying to do the textures for a film medium. You can get away with a lot if the medium is Video that dont look so good on your monitor. One can allways go back and re do them if one needs to.
Yes i would like to get a subsurface scattering renderer but alas my funds for this are not to great.

Thanx for all your wonderfull replies, I´ll try to correct what´s needed and update with the rigged character and better lighting later.

Cheers

Looks great.

I love the body and the way it is set up. nice texture on the face.

Not sure if you have a bump on the face.. but if you do not I would add one.

Its starting to look really good.
