Hi,
here is a WIP I'm working on for a website. This logo has to become the opening page for the website for the boyscouts I'm in. Been working on it for two weeks now and beginning to think its going the right way and I think its allmost finished and I thought it would be a good idea to post it here so I can see what other ppl think of it. This one took allmost 6 hours to render.

The logo is supposed to be a little weird and maybe a little "active or overwhelming" but I hope its not TOO many of that.
If you have some comments or tips please shoot...

To be perfectly brutally honest, I must say that I am not too fond of your choice of colours
The colours all kinda blend into something that is a bit confusing to look at, because there is so little contrast in the image.
It's also impossible to really discern what is actually going on in the image. I don't really understand what those little balls of light are, or what purpose they serve.

The image is just generally too confusing
I'm really sorry to have to say this, because I know that you have put a lot of hard work into it. In my opinion, a logo for something like this would actually be more suitably done in a 2D program like Photoshop. Well, at least plan it out in PS. Looking at this, I'd have to guess that you didn't really sketch this one out, or make a mock-up of it before creating it in 3D.

When designing logos, it's very important to plan and create them in 2D first. This way you can tell whether or not the logo will work. Students studying design know that you cannot ever do a project without first starting with paper and pen (or Photoshop and Wacom/mouse).

What I recommend is that you check out some sites that focus on design (I can't think of any offhand, but do a search through Google or something) and do a bit of research into logo design. Then come back to this, and see how you can improve it

What logo? :surprised
I have to agree with Leigh.
Remember to keep things simple.

Woosh, the composit is really bad too. Look at the bottom of the pic, there's nothing even there.

Back to the drawing board is my advice.
