Very nice image, you've got here. Would love to see this one full res to check out all those details in the building. If you have a depth map for the scene, this would make a very cool stereo (anaglyph image). Great job!

What gorgeous, intimidating work. Absolute perfect architectural modeling and textureing. The character and scenery work complement the structure with dazzling subtlities. Entirely impressive and worth studying. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. :applause: :bounce:

Cyberone ...
Thanks man. BTW there is only one basic material for building ... But I rendered two other variations of building with different textures and then painted the mask for them in photoshop. Thats where the dirt comes from... :)
safe05 ...
Yes I suppose I can do a stereo in the future. So, depth is enough to make this? I will post a link to full res soon...
Maxter, kreuz, vader ..
Thanks for the comments.
ravioli_rancher ...
It was my pleasure to share it with others and if anyone of you are interested in some techniques just ask. I am thinking about making a making of these days ... but I will see after I take some rest.

See you at next challenge ... hope so. :) I will do less complicated picture next time. :)

Hi friend, what an image you made it looks more than beautiful with all these great models and textures you made, I like your composition too specially the top fog and clouds above the temple, brilliant work. :)
Though I have some things in my mind that goes around your story and would love to share it here to the others:
Here is your story:
"The gods left us. Angels, they said ... we created you to be our right hand, the ones who pursue our goal to raise biological life all over the universe. And from the beginning it was as they said, until now. Billions of years passed since the creation, but we never foresee that our masters can leave us. We, the angels, are all that are left behind in upper world. Our fathers left us after those apocalyptical events started. Only piece they left behind is a temple in which they lived from the time of creation. But, the universe is coming to end. All the life which we raised through the universe has disappeared. Only few planet, out of billions, are still alive, and we still visit them from time to time to raise belief in gods. But belief in what!... if intelligent biological life only knew how our masters used us all ... how they created all life to serve them and not to praise it. All that life energy which was drained from belief in them ... if they know what great deception that was. I am ashamed of my fathers. The Earth, a planet which was one of the most beautiful in the universe is at his last decade. I visited Earth so many times before ... I was her guardian, and I will be her guardian this last time. This is my last visit, a journey to Earth, a decision to share the destiny of life at that planet. "
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Please read carefully to end to understand, or you will lose what I mean”
and for my opinion I see so much inconsistent subjects involved in the story and I would love to show them (they are only in our real life they don’t affect your image at all):
1- You said “the gods left us” and you meant they left the angels as I understood and they were (Angels) created by gods to be Gods’ right hand, O.K, I have here to ask a question, If Gods creates everything how it comes they can leave them? If Gods creates every things (from biological lives to the ironic things and all other substances and plants and so on) then gods must be the ones who also creates the reasons because how we can say gods creates everything from nothing then we say gods doesn’t create the reasons for those things, and there is a second question, Does things and creatures and all others need gods to stay alive and continue normal reasons and life or not? Of course it is so ridiculous to say gods creates everything in the whole life with all its greatness and the reasons then we say angels those creatures that moves every things or the creatures are moving themselves with the universe and we ignore gods.
2- Is there Gods or one God only?, I say one god only, and I will proof it for you: first, if there is more than one god for sure each god will have his separate creatures and life forms and will also go beyond his creating and try to be better than the other god whatever it is and all gods will have (let say a war) to be the best. Second, why all of us have lot of brains but almost same feelings and thoughts and questions from childhood to death, and why it comes we all understand life in same way but with different styles, and the whole world from creatures to earth and galaxies and all others are made from specific substances that have same reasons whenever and wherever it is, third, when we don’t know god it doesn’t mean that god doesn’t exist and we all know that universe is more than great and huge and know that what goes beyond our knowledge we say (We don’t know) like the far away galaxies and what’s beyond them, also when we say what is god? It doesn’t mean god is not there and god does not exist, imagine that you lived in a closed room that have no open at all and there is a sun outside but you do not know the sun because you lived in closed room all your life so you try to convince yourself that this is your room and that nothing is out not even a single dust or sun, it is the same we cannot say there is no god because we do not know but we have to figure out, so if you are in that dark room alone is there someone you can ask him for help or for anything you love, what if god is more than what we know and no one can stand seeing god or he will be finished, what if it is wrong to ask we want to see god to believe in him but doesn’t ask what if god is greater than to show himself to his best creatures and wanted to be known by what he creates, what if god only creates the life and give brain to let us discover his greatness not to see him but by following his religions and way to get to his greatness just as you see him, (I mean you might love someone you put in your brain a place for him but he is not there but you believed in him and wanted him for you just as you can see him) so you can get to a point where you see god by your heart and brain not by your eyes where the eyes is less than heart and brain in the life great creating.
3- So if there is one god as we said due to what I mentioned from life, we have to know from him what is life and what is death and what is behind death and so on? We will discover from what we’ve got from religions the answers, because god didn’t left us without knowledge.
4- Angels are a great creatures that doesn’t look like humans and human eyes cannot see them because human eyes have limits (how it comes you cannot see the sun directly or eyes will be burned) those creatures serves god in different ways, and god of course is around all what happens, and the whole universe and what is beyond is a place for angels to fly around not a small temple to live in and control things, while you still have a point where god gave angels the capability to control specific things while they still in one place and goes to different places in same time.
5- If the creatures gets intelligent more than what god knows you will say that god creates the brains but don’t know how it works, and god creates the heart but don’t know how it works. I will say that thinking like this is not right and of course god knows all that and more than that in millions multiplied by trillions of levels while god of course still not like human and doesn't mean he learns but it means he knows without limits.
Thank you all for reading and thanks to administrators for giving us such opportunities for writing and knowing each others.:)

Thanks for the first comments about the image. But for the rest I think it is a pointless to comment on that. This is a story, a story similar to number of great games like Legacy of kain for example, which was one of inspiration sources for this project, and you should consider it in that matter. The challenge is made for the art to be created, and art doesnt have any boundaries.
Good luck.

Awesome architecture, I was waiting from the beginning of the challenge to see what it would be at the end. That's reaaly one of the best architectural modeling I've ever seen. Anyway I think the character could be a little better. I don't what's the problem with him, maybe the skin shader, which seems too plastic I think. But that's a detail, that's a GREAT picture !

Ok, but as you said this is out of challenge discussion. It is better to talk about this stuff directy through email. I also like to talk about phylosophical questions like that but not here. Well, good luck with your image, it looks cute.

Simply awesome background history! I realy boght this one! Very creative and apealing, your image is realy great and all the atentions go to the background construction of course! The only thing I has to say is that, reading the story, I expected more from the graphic representation of the angel:sad:. Anyway! great job!:applause: Congrats on finishing it and GOOD LUCK!

Yes the angel is so different from the picture we all have in our minds. These little creatures are more like a small monks which helped goods do they tasks, but at the end they found out theye were slaves. Good luck to you too...
