5 stars for me, awsome work. i would only add that if you have so precise shadow from upper elements over the ships and over the floor, maybe the ships as they're closer to the ground, they should have a more defined shadow in the floor than the shadows coming down from upper elements. Again, excelent work.

Wonderful work...really reminds me of Ryan Church and Dusso. The only thing that doesn't work so well in my opinion are the background areas along the contours of the spaceship. You seem to have lost the depth between the background and the spaceship.
Nonetheless...5 stars for an awesome piece!

Although the design of the ship's is a bit unclear due to the environment, overall it's an amazing image, great work keep it up. 5*

Aircraft design is fantastic!

The environment with partial shadows make the scene believable, I wonder what is casting the shadows - a tower maybe? I feel like I want to walk into the scene to go and see the aircraft up close like the people in the scene are doing. The aircrafts look used - operational - very good.

My crits:

There are places where the background's value just does not allow the aircraft to come forward in perspective, especially the furthest aircraft, only slightly. Very hazy background strokes following the contour of the aircraft fuselage break the tarmac detail and cause a fuzzy halo.

Background aircraft : how does the pilot see straight ahead over that nose? I may even remove that - whatever it is - and leave the craft with a slender slightly upward bulging nose - the existing lines are great!

Excellent work

Looks like the highspeed vehicles raced at the Bonneville salt flats. One even looks like it has a 'sidecar' very cool. Quite a bit of shadow though? If it's a space craft atmosphere your going for a little less tree in the area perhaps. Looks like a inpromptu car show and shine happening which is also cool. If your going to keep the trees (that could be cool aswell) perhaps a shot through the trees. It's not to often you see spacecraft in that setting and if you had glimpses of the crafts obscured you would really want to know what they are. UFO in the woods as it were. This would also go along with the show and shine thing.

Something to concider perhaps. The sun when it hits these vehicles will contract the area's that are exposed to the sun. Like a brass instrument. If you have these hightly tuned racing machines they will want to keep them at a consistant temp throughout. So shade would be something that would be good for the 'show and shine' or post race. Pre race prep would have them out in the sun getting ready. This could effect the aerodynamics of the vehicle or the interrnal structure (as with an aircraft at different altitudes - although that is due to cooling and not heating). So in the end you want the race vehicle to be consistantly cool or hot depending on what the ambient temp is so shade is something you would avoid (prior to racing).

Although the setting is very nice it's perhaps not to desirable prior to a race. That said its a very cool image. The models are fantastic. A real thirties look to them. I love the materials. Post race vehicles are so hot the sun has little effect on them so being in the shade is more of a driver/pilot compfort thing then a vehicle cooling thing. So post race would be quite cool.

You're really not afraid to go in and totally change up your image at any time during the process it seems.

I could learn from that..

Hi there,

I tottally agree with these C&Cs above here. I was going to type almost the same words...:D

Well, but I have to say: 5 stars on the design side, painting may need some lil corrections, but overall the concept is great, lines are great, you rocked on this ! Congratulations !

hey Jung,

I like the design on the spaceships, good thing you added some chracters in there too to give us a better idea of scale, colors are beautiful too, subtle, subdue... the values are a bit too close to each other, yeah, but it doesn't take away from the overall feel... very nice :)
