Hi,
my name is Dan and I'm new at CGTALK.
I have chosen this theme ("First Day of School"), because I remember my first day at the kindergarten as a nightmare. I believe everybody has some kind of memory from first day of school/kindergarten. Of course, this is metaphoric idea, and the scene doesn't describe a real journey. By the way, the name of the school isn't final...

Hope to get some Responses soon.

That's a good topic! School is quite a journey in life, and it all begins at kindergarten. :)

thx for the reply. I want the scene to focus mainly on the first day of school, and to show the fear of the child going to school in the first time.

Hi, this is another sketch i have thought about. I know it's not so clear so I'll explain. This is a sketch of a mountain climber, He is in the begining of the climb, and his aim is to get to the top of the mountain in the background. I would like to get some comments, because I don't know which sketch is more suitable for the "Journey Begins" idea. Sorry for the poor english...

I think the "first day of school" has more of a beginning journey... the climber is already on his way...
I more like the concept of the first day journey. But I think both could be great.

thx Arakaz, you helped me a lot. In spite of what you said, i think there is a technical problem with the first sketch - I don't know if depth of field will be suitable, however in the second sketch depth of field will be great. hmm... I don't really know how to explain it... In the first sketch both child and school has to be on the same depth of field, while in the second sketch the mountain and the climber can be on different depth of field. I hope I explained it well, it's hard to explain it in English...

I'll be happy to get some more comment, because I can't decide what sketch to choose.

I agree with Arakaz, the school one is more of a beginning journey. For your other sketch, you could put the guy at the bottom of the mountain looking up instead of aready on it. Then it would be more of a journey beginning.

d4m0 - thx for the help. I'll try to make another sketch of the climber scene with a feeling of "the journey begins".

High3d - thx:) . Which idea did you like the most? hmm... I hope to post some more sketches and 3d soon. Right now I'm quite ill and I barely get to the computer. As soon as I recover I will get back to work.

Hi Dan, I think that both look good, but the school one is better. And, if you are worried about the depth of field, you can always turn it off.

Good Luck!
