View Full Version : need easy way to get realtime videos
SHEPEIRO 03-08-2006, 10:54 AM i want some realtime videos for my portfolio, whats the easiest way to produce these, preferably id like to just export maxes window, but if that isnt possible what is the easyiest engine to import normal mapped models into.
oh yeah my PC is only 1.3ghz athlon, with geforce 5 256mb ram, and 512 system ram, so nothing to boo.
oh yeah tried fraps, but it needs to work inside game engine wont record in max. =-p

Camtasia is helpfull for this and for creating videotutorials

hey that looks sweet, will probably export to Premeire edit then pack into a bink video anyway, so if it can export in lossless or near loosless then it should be just what i wanted cheers.
now to do it all in 30 days, therez the trick.

Are you talking about recording realtime gameplay footage of your work? recently i'v been trying to find out how to do this, so far what i'v come up with is out put my video signal to the tv which also runs through my dvd hard drive recorder I then record to the hard drive and transfer to dvd then rip the dvd onto my pc a bit long winded but all the compression is done for you:) but I would like to know how to do a quick screen shot of in gameplay when i hit print screen all i get is a bloack window:( any ideas on how to do that?

I used the Camtasia software Dennispls mentioned to create some modo UV unwrapping tutorials for my friend. It worked really well.
I don't see why it should't work just as well in Max :)

oh it works fine for max i tried it but the only thing that kept me busy were the compressions methods and results..
If anyone comes across a good way of doing this please let me know

At work we just output to a video camera and then dump that back into Final Cut Pro.

I use Camtasia for recording video tutorials, then edit in Premiere. A 20 minute video can be recorded, edited and uploaded within an hour.
