Are there any file viewers out there that will allow a client to open a .max file (ideally) or a more generic filetype with a standalone tool? This tool doesn't necessarily have to be free, infact i have a $2000AUD budget. TurnTool (http://www.turntool.com) so far seems to be the best option, but requires pricey re-registration every 6 months.

its also highpoly stuff too, so it needs to run well (turntool optimizes very well and runs like a dream, for example)

any help would be greatly appreciated.

both 3dexploration (www.righthemisphere.com (http://www.righthemisphere.com/)) and polytrans (www.okino.com (http://www.okino.com/)) require a valid 3ds Max installation to open and convert max files. If the creators of those files could export them as 3ds, obj, dwg, dxf or fbx then 3dexploration might be an option, but I'm not sure how well it handles really large files.
