So this is for a print project coming up. No real concept except that I want him to be HUGE and scarey. I'm modeling him on the fly. Started this weekend and this is what I've got so far. No hands or feets yet and the hips and legs need a lot of work. I also don't like the shiney blinn, but it was good to see how it looks. Here goes.

And the low poly wire.

The model is real good, but there are lots of weird details that don't seam to serve a purpose other than to have added detail. Like those circle things on his chest and stomach. What are those for? And his strange abs. They don't seam natural.

i'm agree with E.Z. Schwartz

those circle thing really don't fit in the overall look,
anf maybe the arms are a little bit large.
beside the modeling is realy great,

i thought about making those circle things puss-filled sores or something but at second look, they do seem kinda just there. any suggestions?

Since he's basicly shaped like a human, maybe you should start with human anatomy, then change it to look more "demon like". Like maybe make his ribs visible, and have the spikes that stick through his skill connected to his ribs somehow. Something to make them look like they have a purpose rather than just extra detail. Those spikes on his shoulder necky muscle dont' make sence. That's a muscle, there's no bone under there. The spike looks like bone protruding through his skin, but it's not attached in a realistic way. If you want spikes there, make them small and look like they are attached to the skin, like maybe look at a lizard or something, instead of something thick sticking through his skin.

hehe look preatty much like the creeps from Guyver :) , were they your inspiration? Nice model, but it needs some flow, coz now it's a bit plastic. Greetz

Actually, my initial inspiration was Bahamut from the Final Fantasy series. But yeah, needs a lot more work. And I don't like the shiney texture. Probably throw a lambert on there next time for rendering. Gonna take out some of the spikes and stuff and start over on the body when I get home. Thanks for the comments. ^_^

Oy, back from the dead. decided to work him up as a low poly character at least for the short term. Trying to get a demo reel together.

And his ugly ass hands. The idea behind these things is that he uses them mainly for slashing and tearing. The pinky looks like a second opposable thumb so he can latch onto the juggular, rip it open, and suck the blood out. At least, that's the idea. I've put the hands and feets on him, but now the poly count is so rediculous, I have to go back and optimise some stuff.

More updates. Working on a bump map for this ugly guy, then onto the color map.
