After 3 years, it's getting time for me to upgrade the graphics card on my system to one that supports OpenGL 2. Unfortunately, I've been kinda out of the loop in video card hardware for the last year and I really don't know much about which cards support OpenGL 2.
Any recommendations for a good card (preferably in the $300-500 range)?

Pretty much any Geforce that is in that price range will support OGL2, as well as the Quadro flavor cards.

Basically this is Geforce 6 and 7 series cards in the $300 and up range. Though, cheaper cards sport OGL2 as well such as the 6600 and the 6800 and 6800GS. I'd shoot for a 7800GT though, as it is right at that $300 mark, and is a good performer in games and CG. Granted, depending on app and your usage, a Quadro may do you better, but it will cost a bit more.

I should also have mentioned that I'm limited to using cards that are AGP 8X, as my motherboard does not have PCI-Express ports.

Any nVidia 6xxx or 7xxx card will have OpenGL 2.0 support, be it AGP or PCI-E

I don't remember how much it is, but at our office we bought a video card for a computer that only had AGP as well. It was either the Quadro fx 3450 or 3400. I don't know which is which. One computer has one, and the other has the other.

I think they are making most of this years versions of Quadros in both formats. In the next years I don't think they will though.

If you use Max at all I would definitely suggest the Quadro cards because of the maxtreme drivers. They really do make a huge difference.
