take at look at my before and after pics. why is this happening?
the torso has vertex wieght set 100%.
I am new to R8 and ik so any help would be greatly recieved.

sorry maybe not enough info when I move my rig the skin starts to get messed up not gripping the bones and twisting other areas of the model

It appears as though you have bones that are not assigned any influence. In that case the bone will affect the entire mesh--even parts that are assigned to other bones. The solution is to make sure every bone has influence assigned to it. Do you have Mocca, or R8 standard?
i do have mocca yes, but didn't see anything in there that I thought would help directly with this problem.
can you explian what you mean by setting the bones influence.
is there an online tutorial that deals with this.
all the other tutorials I have followed on this from the manuals books web etc don't seem to have this problem or mention it, they set up the rig and it works.
where am I going wrong

I suggest you download the Mocca reference manual from Maxon's site and read it from front to back. About half of it is a step-by-step tutorial.

You need to choose the Claude Bonet tool and then select each bone and 'paint' it's influences onto the mesh.
