in Combustion 4, i've gone through all the help files but cant seem to find out how to colour correct only a certain part of the image.

I've made a mask that i want to use to "mask" out where the colour corrector effects and doesn't

Anyone know how to do this?

IM sure it must be pretty simple..

many thanks.

use selections operator for this. Either add a Draw selection before your colour correct or use one of the other selection tools. Make sure to add a remove slection after the colour correct, or else this selecion will mask all the other operators in your flow.

Also you could also use the Discreet Keyer and instead of "matte" select "selection" for the output. Then you can color correct specific colors, a really handy feature for darkening an overly bright sky, or any number of color targeted corrections.

Whatever tool you use, you just need to look for the keyword "Selection". (And like Aneks said, don't forget to deselect)

Beyond of keyers adn masks you can use the ranges o color corrector to correct only one range of luminance
