View Full Version : Merging Animation in 3D Max
alpotnis 12-16-2002, 10:41 AM Hi guys ... this is my first time here. I have a question on merging animation (NLA ). I want to show a coin tossing up and falling on the ground and it revolves befor it comes to rest. Now for this i have created 2 max files ...one with file tossing up and the other file with the coin revolving on the ground....how do i merge these 2 files into single file with only one object getting these 2 animations.
Hope you guys understood my query.

There is a Merge Animation tool that should allow you to do it. I'm not too familiar with it, but I'm sure someone here can help you. Personally, I'd use weighted List Controllers to blend the animation together, or maybe even do the whole animation as one Reactor simulation.

Thanks for the reply BrandonD.... i have tried using the merg animation potion but it dosent solve my problem. I will experiment with your suggestion as i have never used that method before.
thanks again

Sod merging the animations, I'd just leave both coins in the scene and use Visibilty tracks to jump between them on the correct frame.
