Just wondering if it's possible to set up a Flame workstation without a Stone hard-disk array. That is, just an Octane box with Flame 7 installed. I ask this because I have the opportunity to get my hands on a Flame suite, sans hard-drive array.

Would this work? Would Flame install and be functional, or does it refuse to work without a Stone array present?

I beleive that you will have to use one of the specified drive arrays for flame to work properly. From memory you used to be able to use one or two other types but they have to be formatted and parition properly to act as a framestore.

You may want to contact you local discreet reller or else try posting this on fxguide.com in their tech/flame section !
