View Full Version : Holy Cow!!! Edgetool.p free on Dstorms site
Mike RB 03-04-2002, 08:31 PM Its a free edge pluging that allows you to split, merge, and collapse edges. The split works just like the maya and xsi add edges tool. No more addpoints!!!!!

you are either a little warez monkey, an employee of a studio that started a project with 7 and cannot upgrade until its over, or a legit owner who isn't savvy enough with the LW scene to know that 7b is a FREE upgrade that is downloadable from Newteks site.
I'm bettin' on #1.

I'm not smart enough to figure out how to use this! Mike_RB, any way to give a quick translation of how this plugin works? sometimes shift seems to do something sometimes it doesn't... hmm...

This plug-in rocks! It should be a standard feature with the next release.
You guys know what else rocks? Mike's comments to warez monkey :)
Thanks for the info Mike

Hey Buddy, we're just kiddin' with you. Keep the questions coming :)
"I'm not smart enough to figure out how to use this!"
How can you not figure out how to use this--it's so simple!? I had it going in a second without trying to make sense of of the Japenese docs.
yep...really rocking plugin

I'm excited!
Does this mean that I will eventually start modeling like Bay Raitt?...
Nah...just wishful thinking...but I can always dream, can't I?

floca: No big deal man, if thats the case you probably fit into somthing like category #2. Keep the questions coming but just be aware that the reason for most people not using a free upgrade is that they are thieves.
If they let you install plugins give it a shot, no harm done if it dosent work on 7.0

The method I used to build this head is pretty much a complete rip-off of the technique Bay Raitt (the guy who modeled the cave troll in LOTR) used in a timelapse video done with Mirai. Having an edge tool makes modeling like this actually quite easy and fun.

Your video doesn't work...it won't download more than a few KB before it boots you.

works fine with download accelerator (sometimes it s "stop" then a pause and a resume do it fine)
edit: pretty cool video... =) now ijust have to figoure out all other stuff in LW to be proeficiant with =P
Nope. Still doesn't work. The network is screwed up or something--I keep getting errors. Try posting it somewhere else.

D-STORM ROCKS!!!!
They coulda charged for this or MagicBevel and I woulda shelled out dough.
I wonder what they do to stay afloat? The only thing I see on their site is some CG hostess?!??!

Great vid.
I would sit through it and give some audio commentary if I were you. Just highlighting what tool you use when
Mike RB

thats almost pointless,
I used 90% of the time drag points with point radial falloff.
the rest is a bit of merge polys, bandsaw, edgetool
The only kind of confusing thing is i have a script to remove the right side of objects and another script to mirror the left onto the right and merge.....
Thats it.

I get it. But I've done some face modeling tuts before. Maybe the newbie doesn't get it. That was my point. But awesome avi and well worth the download.
Finally got it. Nice video!
