playblast crashs Windows Media

Have you tried watching playblast in Maya's default player, FCheck? I believe the playblast options allows you to choose which player you want to view it in.

Do a search for playblast problems and you'll see everyone has their own problems for which there are many possible solutions.

I prefer to use the quicktime player to view playblasts. Rather than mess with windows quirky file associations I have been using ev_QT_playblast_v0.51.mel (written by eriks vitolins, www.evdesigns.com (http://www.evdesigns.com)). This script creates the playblast .avi and it opens in the quicktime player. Works great!

Try right clicking on the Maya icon on your desktop and then selecting properties...select the compatability tab and then select the Windows 2000 option.

That solves a problem that often happens with playblasts crashing.
