View Full Version : Free Fur Plugin?
biffen 12-15-2002, 10:37 PM Does anybody know of a free fur plugin for Max 4.2? I'm just a student and I don't have the money for something like Shag: Fur.
I don't expect there to be one out there, but it never hurts to ask. Thanks for any input you might have.

I was hoping it wouldn't come to that, but I'll keep it in mind.
For each hair, would I make very thin triangles or what?

you can always model plane-strips and use opacity-mapped hair textures... a sort of long-wide-strips-of-hair thing. while its still sort of a pain, its MUCH easier then modeling thousands of individual hairs by hand using renderable splines

Peter Watje had a free particle hair plugin. Not sure if it's still around, but we used it a long time ago and it was pretty good, but extremely slow. But then we were using it on a 150mHz P1.
I'll just go have a look for it........
OK get it here.
