Hi,
I'm tritng to obtain an animation/modeling effect.

Imagine an animation: a human figure moves his arm. During the
movement, the arm generates a shape from the space occupied during
his movement. The final object is a strange object generated by the
original figure plus the volume occupied by his movement.

Using 3ds max I tried a plugin called Ghost Trails, but it leaves a trace of a shape, not mesh

Does anybody knows a way, a plugin, a script, a trick to obtain
this kind of object? Is it a 3d modeling matter, or compositing/post/effects?

Thanks
Ernesto

I am not very sure of what you are trying to do, but I think I would do it manually. Make snapshots of the animation, and compose them(maybe some kind of metaballs, or blobmesh) to make diferent steps of the new mesh. Then make a morph to put all together in the animation. Good luck!

Thank you, maybe it's a good way. I'm going to try.
