Hi peeps and CGS team

I'm a noob and this board is pretty dauntingly HUGE so please don't slam me for posting in the wrong forum etc.

Recently I started off wanting to create a graphic novel, but then ambition got the better of me and I decided to go the whole hog and make a 2D cell by cell anime movie instead. I have never done any 'proper' animation before (flash doesn't really count) so I am naive as to what format the final movie should be, what resolution, size, etc. in order to be big screen or HD TV compliant.

Does anyone know these things? would hate to spend a couple of years animating only to find it's at the wrong resolution :s

If you draw it on paper you should be able to scan it into any resolution you want.

thanx, but you misunderstood -

I need to know what the standard pixel size and resolution of exported animations is for the film industry...

As far as I know 2K is the standard resolution for film. In pixels it is 2048x1556.
The Imax resolution is 4K, which is 4096x2048 pixels.

There really isn't a standard film/bigscreen aspect ratio, and it's most definitely different than the 16:9 format for HD.
