View Full Version : Toonrendering
well, another one of my silly q:s about max to XSI(hope im not driving ya mad)...
Ive been using the cartoonreyes plug for max, which is really outstanding toon rendering. Are there any similar commercialscripts or shaders for XSI? I know there is toon rendering, but so far what ive seen is just average compared to Reyes. Or is it just a tweaking thing?
Thanx

hi can you give me an example or more details of what u re trying to do?
i just saw the reyes gallery and i saw nothing tha can t be done in xsi
If you look at this image youll see that the line widths and angles are all depending on what ever the mesh is doing, where it is in relation to the camera and so on. I found Reyes to be totally awsome, and you get good results without much tweaking.
Havent really seen anything which beats it yet, but i love xsi. Right now it feels like the holy grail, so i would love to stand corrected :)

i think what you are searching for is the "anisotropy tapering"
in the ink lens shader
hmm ok. ill check it out :)
I havent really gotten very far with xsi yet.
Im just trying to get my bearings, and evaluating it as fast as possible. if it is indeed for me or not.
Thanks
