... Ok, new painting starting off today...I've got some downtime at work, so I'm trying to use the time productively.
I'm a big fan of the whole, 50's atomic age, thing...and I have a strange totally unexplained attraction to baseball....probably becauswe when I think of baseball, I think of the world series around the middle of last centuary...I think of the classic old uniforms as opposed to the garish one today...I dunno, there's just something about it. Plus, 'Field of Dreams', is a great little movie ;) .... Anyway... inspired by this and the old little labels/pictures shown above...I've began sketching......

Quick update from this morning. Right now just looking to lay down the basic colour palette.

I could leave it like this I suppose but I'm going for something a little more detailed.....hopefully ;)

I've roughed out the supporting characters in colour. I've also purposely used a slightly more desaturated palette so as not to draw too much focus from the hitter. Just gotta go through with a fine tooth comb now, tweaking anatomy and adding areas of detail...

Really nice stuff

I think you have caught the fell of the 50's perfectly in the palette! And you colours work is absolutely great. Looking forward to seeing it put together!

Hi!
A really good work on colors...I agree with Overchord about the 50's palette.
The caracters poses are great too, in movement.
I like the impression of speed / pause of the compos.
Keep it up!
