i only found two similar tutorial on modeling a book, however both of them deal with a stationary opened book...

this one have turning pages using patch...
[URL=http://www.interneteye3d.com/Tutorials/2001/August/3DSABPages/default.asp]
my concern:
i wanted to depict the book falling from a low height, when its spine hit the ground, the book open wide, with some flapping pages effect.
what i have done...(with 3dS max)
modelled 2 block of "pages" (box with noise and FFD applied)
adjusted the rotation...
my problem (can't figure it out)
how to get the spine to stick and move with the blocks realistically? i've tried several means: (1)using editable mesh, with soft selection...(2) using dummy (3)linking top vertex of the spline to top block, and to bottom block as well.......GEEZ! not working, maybe me done it wrong SIGH!
please help
:(
