View Full Version : Nuke Light Wrap
Fantastic Plastic Machine 03-06-2006, 12:28 AM I've been looking at some Nuke training DVDs lately and I'm really impressed by the LightWrap node. Unfortunately, I don't have Nuke. Does anyone know of a plugin or tool for after effects or combustion that might simulate the lightwrap effect? Unfortunately these and the XSI FX tree are the only compositor I have access to.
Thanks,
Ben

There are a dozen plugins for AE that do this(just google "light wrap after effects plugin"). Thing is you don't need it. It can be done quite easily in all compositing apps without plugins.

Brilliant - Thank you. I had looked at highend 2d, but didn't think of just checking google. My mistake. I'll check out that link as soon as I'm on a computer without ridiculous internet restrictions.

Use the Find edges filter in the matte ( you can need usethe matte as RGB channels, use shift channels for example) after this use blur, "erode" and brightness and contrast to adjust the lightwrap matte
