View Full Version : PA Challenge - Character - Visorguard
bibi5000 03-04-2002, 04:23 PM Maybe it's a bit late, but I couldn't resist :)
I did this character once in 3D, but I always wanted to paint it.
I don't know exactly, if it matches the focus of the challenge:
you decide.
So here's my first sketch and a rough color version.

don't know :)
Maybe I'll finish the 3D Model, it needs some sort of googles (face and helmet have some bugs, as you see) and lots of wiring, I think. I'm not too happy with the feet, too.
here's an animation preview: http://home.arcor.de/bibi5000/visor.avi
(2MB: be patient...)

What do you think: 2D or 3D?

Yeap
pretty original idea going here
cool concept.
though that face does seem to have a couple of glitches
-the lips, specielly the corners
-the nose, as in the area around the 'nose wings'
and the cords for the optical addon for the eye seem to be intersecting with the corner of the cheek

got me... I was hoping to cover this with the texture
there's a whole story behind this image btw
which fits the scheme of this challenge perfectly (was very surprised, as I ran into this challenge a few days ago...)
It's a rough draft for a computer game.
you can read it at http://home.arcor.de/bibi5000/
it's all written in german, but you can look at the pictures anyway ;)
I better start painting now

I like the shoulder reinforcement you draw!!
Why donīt you put the in the 3d model?
The body-arms join will be better with a semi spheric shoulder reinforcement

couldn't sleep that night and came up with this one and I think it's a final.
sheeeeesh. there is still MUCH to do, but maybe I'll wait for the next challenge and keep practicing my modeling skills in the meanwhile

hmmmm...
apreciate your suggestion, but I'm too tired now.
wonder, how he moves his arms; must be a very tricky mechanism
maybe something like this:
