Maybe an idea: he's not looking in the distance but raising his sword, like he's saying: ATTACK!

This has a great lot of potential - with nice, dynamic angle, waves breaking at the tree roots, wind blowing, sun shining through the clouds... eeh, you got me hooked :thumbsup:. Keep it up. :wip:

Nice idea:) Very Calvin and Hobbes-like.
I also like the idea of making the atmosphere as if the tree was actually at sea... very dream-like.

This is a very fun concept, Even though the sceen doesnt seem taht extensive I think you have alot to play wiht. Going to enjoy watching this one.

Looking good so far! Nice modelling and concept!:) I like the way that this is one of the only ones that focus on the character's face looking at the camera, instead of looking away to where the character is going. This will make it stand out a bit I think.

However, the detail on the trees is bugging me a bit. It's structured unrealistically. If you emphasize the way the bark is twisting around the tree with some more detail and the texturing, then it could look really unique. If you want to go realistic, look up references of trees and see which way the lines go. As of now however, it just seems they are a bit uniformly spaced and have quite a twist to them which looks unnatural.

Like some others said, very cool concept.
I´m not sure if it is necessary to put the Tree on an Island. For me the concept without island works better...

the composition and idea are really great.
The shadow of the leaves make a nice effect. If you success to have strong light in your picture, it will be really interessant.
