First concept idea. A Ruined Temple of Sorts where two belief structures come together.
The Statues there are about 60-70 ft tall. carved directly into the stone just like in Petra Jordan.

The idea is that it is a place where people of a religious belief structure and those who believe in science come together. So one statue has a recognizable religous emblem of some kind, in my sketch i used cross but imnot sure if thats still what i want to use, and on the other statue a scientific emblem of sorts, was thinking about using the nucleus with electrons spinning around thing. hehe

I am aslo trying to design some type of nice mix of the two emblems. the sketch there is of a cross with a gyroscope in middle and maybe the nucleus thing in the middle of the gyroscope, who knows.

i also have to come up with a figure who will be my main character who is embarking on the journey of being the last one who knows these teachings and what not. this part im really not sure about. this being so hazy is one reason im not sure about this concept.

will post other concept i have thought of in bit

This Idea i think is little better developed. The idea is the final image will look like a Family Portrait. There will be the Father, Mother, and two or three kids. maybe one older and a set of twins. not sure yet.

The journey will be that the mother is firmly resolved in leaving the husband and taking her children with her. She is leaving him because he has lost all their money by gambling on horses and drinking because he keeps losing.

I want this to be a period piece. Perhaps set in the Victorian era ala sherlock holmes and the like.

So i am little bit curious what everyone else thinks about the ideas and which one they prefer. I will hopefully start modeling tomorrow after sketch group.

1st off, welcome to cgtalk!

Now this is definitely a unique concept! I imagine the hardest thing about it will be getting your narrative across in the image, without it looking like the family is going on a trip. (even then, that's still a journey!)

Good luck!

thanks wintermute. i have been lurking around here for quite sometimenow just never posted anything

so i guess you like the portrait concept. thanks I think i have allready convinced myself thats the one im oging to do. I'm currently doing some research on Victorian era costumes and furniture.

On getting the narrative across i have a feeling a large part of that will be coming from nailing the facial expressions and probably some use of color in the lighting. maybe towards the door near the baggage will be more of ablue light where around the family and father will be more orangeish-red.

will post references and sketches as i produce them. hope to get to modeling something tomorrow. just trying to decide where to start. eeek

Went and found some reference images of victorian furniture. and im thinking of using a mirror to show the bgs and suitcases by the door.
