This is one of a couple different concepts sketches. My idea is having a farmer and an alien swap places. I'll be uploading a few more concepts. Still feeling out where I want to go with the idea.

I'm working on the inside of the mouth. Any tid bits and tips for making the mouth is most welcome.

Here is the mouth of my redneck. I'm not too much worried about the molers but it may bother me enough that I'll fix them up a bit.

The circled spaceship is the style that I'm going with. I almost want to go with a bubblely jetson type of design.

I believe that I'm done with the barn. Textures should cover the rest of the details needed for the far shot.

I believed I finished modeling the house. I need to do a quick layout of the scene to see what needs to be modeled or textured on the house. Any feedback is welcome.

it's really a funny idea ! :applause: :applause:

And there is two journeys !

I like your farmer, he is really the last person you may find driving a spaceship ! I like it a lor ! How will be the alien ?

The one thing I don't like is your composition of picture.

All is on the left, going to the left, and there is nothing on the right part of picture.
And your spaceship is just bouncing on the side of picture.

Try turning your vessel, making it going to the right. Then, you could use the 'golden number spiral' as a smoke trail ! This will give much more power to the picture, to the take off, and to the idea.
Also, it will make a link between alien and farmer...

Ok I add some fences and a truck. I'm really iffy on the truck. I want to do a 1937 ford pick up truck, but the blueprints are not that good. So please pick apart the truck. I'll give it a different color of shader if need be. But there some obvious details that it needs but with the camera distance the items may not be needed.

There is not a whole lot to comment about the truck just yet. The composition doesn't bother me a whole lot but I agree, turning the ship slightly or angling it more will give it a more dynamic spice to the image. I believe the smoke from the engine could give the picture more depth regardless of where the ship is placed. Nice job.

Thanks for the feedback Youpi and se7enthcin.

Currently the truck doesn't have any wheels or rear bumper. I'll probably add those later tonight or early tomorrow. I don't want to kill the truck with a uber amount of details. Ecspecially with it so far away.

I'll be playing with the ship and comp once all the assests are complete. I still need to do some farm animals, alien, windmill, gate, and other farming things.

I remodeled the truck and modeled a gate. I hide the ground so that the other assests will show up better.

I'm just not getting the detail out of the truck. You might want to detail the objects that are closer to the camera. If you spend so much time detailing things that cannot be seen or could be faked using a texture map then you're wasting valuable time. This is not to say that having an old ford pickup in your stash of models is "wasting time" but for this image the detail is not going to be there. Does that make sense?

Here is the compare and contrast of the two trucks. I know that it is far away and I shouldn't worry to much about detail. But, man it was just bugging me enough to redo it. I'm pretty happy with the newer truck. It still doesn't have a lot of detail, but enough to make me happy.

I have now started texturing the redneck. So far I have his head and after lunch. I'll work on the rest of his body.

I would of updated earlier but I was having 13hr rendering issues. So, I need to figure out why it was taking so long for such a small image. I still need to fix the shader for his eyes, hair, and paint textures for his mouth

Its been awhile since I last update. I basically have all my assets all shaded and textured. I'll probably use some PaintFX trees to fill in some gaps here or there in the comp. Next thing on my list is rigging the main character and the animals.
