"It's easy to understand why many gamers still don't know what to make of the PlayStation 3. To this day, Sony still swears up and down (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3146229&did=1) that the PS3 will be released this spring, and yet here we are in March, and much about Sony's next-generation console remains a mystery. What will the system cost? How powerful will it be? What kind of online structure will it have? Some of the answers are still elusive, but little by little the picture is becoming clearer, and as the console's release approaches, it seems like a good time to regroup and look over what we know, what we can speculate, and what we can only guess about the PlayStation 3. What follows is a summary of everything we know about Sony's machine, and our best guess at what we can expect to hear more about later this year."

nice to see these demos (haven't up until now.) kinda makes me wonder just how feasible the old "playstation 10" playstation 2 advert might be given the advances in technology nowadays...

anyone remember that old commercial?

Now I'm not going to comment on the lack of professionalism in the article or how fanboyish it is....

But I just love the comment about how "omg they said spring and it's already march 4th!". Anyone else notice the humor there?

Besides, last time I checked spring can extend to June in some countries depending on the weather. I didn't know there was a a seasons calendar out there. Screw the ones with months, I want a calendar I only have to change 4 times a year. ;)

He meant that usually before somethings about to come out, you know more about it. Well if we're just getting into spring and it's supposed to come out in spring, one would usually assume alittle more solid info would be floating around.

too bad 99% of the games announced will be poor remakes of old titles with nicer graphics...

all that supposed power only to give more of the same old sh!t...

kudos to N for trying to innovate at least....

My point is that it's not even the second quarter yet for companies. Second quarter doesn't even start until April and they actually have until June to release the system and still be able to call it a "Spring" release. Why would they release details? Details don't sell systems, games do. Besides, the comment was 3 months too early. Now if July rolls around and the system still hasn't been released, then a comment like this would make sense. As of now though, it just sounds like a cry from someone who wants to see Sony fail.

As an XBOX, XBOX 360 & PS 2 owner. My one hope is that sony can vastly improve their online services or I will be questioning their commitment to gamers. I am nervous about the "open format". If its developer by developer I bet many titles that would be great with online capabilities will go without. If I am not mistaken all Xbox 360 titles have some form of online options even if it is only for gamer points or ranking stats. If Sony could do at least the same that would make it more vaulable for me. I am having a great time on xbox live and double the fun is "sony live" is just as good. Please let it be!
