View Full Version : Outlines of an object in dark room
Maria-Avramova 03-03-2006, 12:46 PM Hi everybody,
I would like to get a light-effect as outlines on a character in a dark room. As if light is shining from behind him. Do you know what is the best way to do it?
Any advice would be very appreciated.

Anyone?
A link to tutorial would be fine as well.

there are a few things you can do to get that rim. you can either set up a series of spot lights behind your character ( http://www.monikasawyer.com/rim_lighting.htm ), or you can use some tricks. i've got a scripted rim light at work that works very well, but i can't find it for the life of me online. i did find these though:

does anyone else have that link to the scripted directional light?

Thanks A LOT. I am going to test those two methods with many lights behind the object and the one with creating a ramp. That sounded pretty good.
oh, you saved me. I am 4 days close to deadline.
