Hi everyone !
Here is my concept sketch for the challenge. Ok I'm not a very good drawer :D.
I did a quick color research to find a mood for the scene. But it's hard without graphic tablet.
Hope you'll like it!
03-03-2006, 04:34 PM
Je surveille vos travaux de pret ;)
03-03-2006, 09:48 PM
The modeling begin with a bee, it's a very little animal in the composition, but I wanted to start by this one.
03-04-2006, 01:02 AM
Here is the second character, a litle animal too. The butterfly is a lot subdivide because I will bend his wings and refine the shape after texturing it. With doing it, i'm sure the texture will exactly match where I want.
03-04-2006, 02:40 PM
hehe ! :D
mais tu trace en plus :D
j'avoueil est magnifique ce dessin plein de belle couleur !
bon courage .. moi aussi je vais bientot poster mes premier truc..

nice butterflies...looks good
03-10-2006, 10:32 PM
Here is an orchid, a species less know than the common ones. I model all the plant, and here is just a close up on a flower.
03-11-2006, 01:49 PM
Here is another flower.
03-11-2006, 04:21 PM
VERY NICE! I dig your flower models very much so. I think they will look absolutely beautiful when they are textured. Keep up the great work! :wavey:
03-11-2006, 07:53 PM
Belle fleurs ludal continue!
03-11-2006, 08:17 PM
Nice modeling man... I really love the bees ... the flower is reaaly net also!
03-11-2006, 08:20 PM
Wow, I'm really digging the modeling on the second flower. Care to share some wireframes?
Keep up the good work.
03-11-2006, 08:23 PM
excellent render.. very good lighting too
same as versiden, love the render quality of the two flowers ! and Good job too for the bee !
have fun with this challenge, my friend from Paris ! :scream:
03-12-2006, 12:54 AM
hey thx a lot everyone !
For the render, it's a simple GI with a spot, nothing more ;)
I'll refine the modeling on the second flower, and i'll share a wireframe later in the progress, don't worry about that ;)
03-12-2006, 03:05 PM
The modeling looks excellent so far, especially those flowers. Very accurate!:)
The concept is nice, but maybe it would look a bit better if there were rocks and grass and things very close to the camera for the bugs to sit on. It seems like many of the characters will be the same distance from the camera which might be a bit less interesting.
I like it! Keep up the good work!
03-12-2006, 07:07 PM
hey burpy! Thx a lot
For the composition, as I said, i'm a bad drawer, so the composition isn't like I exactly want. It's just an idea, and I'll refine it when all the modeling will be done ;)
Anyway, thx for your constructive comment

Hi ! This is a new plant with flowers to add in the scene ;) It's a little up for the moment, more to come !
03-16-2006, 01:10 AM
Good ludal , mais je trouve que les branche des fleurs exterieurs on l'aire trop rigide. mais a par sa c'est cool
03-16-2006, 01:14 AM
nice start in 3d... I like the style you show up with :) Looks very promising...
03-16-2006, 09:18 AM
Pour les branches, j'ai regardé ma mod, elles sont courbées, c'est juste l'angle de caméra qui ne nous fait pas nous rendre compte qu'elles le sont ;)
Mais merci de la remarque !
Thx Theuni
03-16-2006, 11:22 AM

04-21-2006, 06:36 PM
Beautiful colors, very much looking forward to seeing your final composition -- looked through your portfolio too. Especially like the way you captured such expressiveness with your french fries using only bare basics of gloves, eyebrows, eyes, and so on.
Hope to see more soon, good luck!
