Hey Adam.

I have a hard time understading the concept.
Can't really see where you want to go.

Other than that, it looks okay.
I think it's a bit too early to begin textureing though.

Keep working, i'm sure it's gonna be nice.

Cheers

That concept is really funny! The space feels a bit cramped- specifically, the cart and house seem too small for these elves, and their heads are a bit big. But maybe that´s what you´re going for. Good luck in the contest!

Where do you get those IK dummies?

Hello :)

I will make the house, and the cart a little bit bigger.

I like the big heads. It's a part of my concept.

The IK dummy's are Bipeds from 3dsmax 6 or highere

Actually, im not sure about the cart. It's a one man cart so... The cart will keep it's size.
The house will be rebuild.

The spooky thing, in front of the cart, is the animal, thats going to pull the cart :)

Started to texture the landskape.

The house will come later.

I Know about the strechings in the texture, and that will be fixed! But now im going to bed

You should work a liitle more with terrain - texture is too small for ground. Try also correct maping coordinates on vertical parts - it helps to create nice looking terrain.

Texture for displacement can be smaller. A lot smaller, without negative effect in rendering. I was talking that grass/stones difuse texture looks like too small.

Hey, I am also modelling an elf, and this is my first try at character modelling (I entered two challenges and never got past the concept, so maybe this time I'll put more effort). Anyways, Good luck.

Feel free to ask if your in a jam and cant find a useful tutorial, I use maya Zbrush and others now but I did use max from VS 1-4+. Its all the same. Your textures are strreeeetchinnng a bit, and those bipeds are great to work with, but for the modeling, being your first time, I would recomend box-modeling the heads as seperate geometry.. getting your basic form and expression, ...then I would push and pull polys for a month, or use a program like Zbrush for details! There are tons of work flows and a few are made just for you!

Organic modeling is some of the most rewarding! Have Fun! and GOODLUCK!

Back to work I go I go... the challenge that is!
