I havent come across any tuts specifically for that, but basically all you need is some reference pix of those characters and the same approach you'd take to modeling anything else....keeping topology in mind, especially if you're going to animate it.
btw...nice to see I'm not the only one RepresEntin' the ATL ;)

haven't come across any tutorial either but just wanted to say that if you then want to animate them, keep in mind that some of them might require squash and stretch, might be a good idea to keep this in mind when modeling.

The only cartoon tutorial I know of is at www.comet-cartoons.com. (http://www.comet-cartoons.com.) Mind you, it is nude JapAname style rather than a Disney thingee.

This guys website has a great tutorial for modelling Crash Bandicoot which is kind of like a looney toons type looking character
