Yes, 8 still subpatches triangles. I don't see any reason why 9 would not. As for NGons, the feature list for 9 says that it will patch NGons. 8 does not though.

8 does it exactly the same way 7 does. 9 will have two different options.

Triangles will Subpatch differently in 9 using Catmul Clarke SubDs...it's a completely different set of code.

I like this Catmull Clark Triangle Sub-Patching.. Will implement it as option in EasySpline.. At least they don't need calculating priorities or forcing user to set vertex priorities and generate quads straight away..

I think I used Catmull Clark in XSI DEMO.
they have 2 deferent ways to SubPatch a Tri.
I don't no the names of all the code.
What's the LW 7 SubPatch code called ?
What's TS,C4D,Maya SubPatch that turns a Tri to a Quad called ?
I don't no why none of the other app's won't SubPatch a Tri.
all I no is modeling a human 100% quads is a pain.
n I want my Tri's n nGons.
