first of all I'd like to say hello, I just recently joined this forum and I'm hoping that it will be a pleasant stay...
ok now that's out of the way...
I've started to model a car a couple of days ago, and it's the first time I'm making something like this. I already know the basic things about 3dsmax, but I mostly used it to weight models and/or uvw map them for Jedi Knight. But I wanted a greater challenge and since I love cars I decided to model our actuall car to get more experience in modelling... I already learned a lot of new stuff and I'm pretty happy with the result so far (http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c166/Carth_/Model%20of%20Seat%20Toledo/toledo13.jpg)
I know that there are many models that are way more detailed, but since this is my first one I'm pretty happy with it...
now for those who checked the image, will have seen that there are no rims or tyres yet. Now this is where my problem is...
I found a great tutorial called 'Car Modeling Using Nurbs Part 4' by Julian Sarmiento, he makes a very detailed BWM and I wanted to use it to model my rims... I know that this tutorial is written for Maya, but stuburn as I am I wanted to try it anyway...
now I'm stuck on the top of this page http://67.15.36.49/team/Tutorials/julian_sarmiento_carmod/carmodel_part4_02.asp this is where he cuts the curves to get a clean image... I tried all kind of different ways to get this but I can't seem to find it....
Now I'm pretty certain that you can do this with 3dsmax but does anyone know how to?
If it's not possible with 3dsmax, could someone else redirect me to another tutorial for making rims? I've been searching but either the rim is not very detailed or the link is dead...
So can someone help me with this please
