This is the first concept sketch. I really like the idea, but I think it needs more development.
Ok, these are the Norse gods. From left to right; Loki, Thor, Sif (Thor's wife), Freya and Odin.
I did a little research (God bless Wikipedia). Well, I read there that Odin is usually described with a hat, but I thought it would look too tourist-like in a picture like this, so I ignored the hat.
I really like how Loki turned out though.
Things that I'm not sure about (I would love to hear your suggestions on these):
Odin does not have one of his eyes -that's the reason I drew it closed. Do you think I should leave it like this, or put an eyepatch over it?
Odin's wife Sif looks a little out of place, I need to re-place her and change position too.
Background. Not sure if the finished piece will have this background.
Please do comment! Enjoy!

You should do your research again, Odin does not have his left eye.

Thanks!!
(Yuz yapmak sorun degil de, ten rengini tutturmak kasicak) I'm just not sure about the sketch though. I'm in a big dilemma, should I do a new composition, or continue with this one... O_o

hmm ok "I think" your thoughts about the journey is great, awesome and this comp. looks fine too but it would be good if you make a new composition that show us more of horizon..more of atmospheric haze. Just to make sure to give us that long journey feel. Is the road a rainbow like in Midgard?

Yeah, I wasn't sure about the background either. I might lose the mountains and put more plains there...
Yeah the rainbow is going from Midgard to Asgard. The mountains make it look like the journey isn't going to take that long.
So you think I should stick with this idea, or maybe do a compeletely different sketch?

hmm you don't have to draw a completely new sketch.I think if you can show us more of landscape the composition will be ok. If I were you I put the characters a little more side and show the rainbow road go far as to the horizon. No matter if you draw mountain or plain just make sure to draw as far as so they can reach the horizon and put atmospheric haze(foreground mountains is darker than the background. The background mountains would be very very similar to the skycolor as written in the Challenge instructions page)
but yasemin your idea is so good. It didn't come to my mind that a challenge entry can be a journey of "gods".great:scream:

Yeah the biggest problem here is the lack of visibility of the background I guess... I wasn't sure about the background anyways, but I spoke with some of my friends here and they all agreed that they dont really look like they're going out on a journey, but rather hanging out there :P
Maybe I can give that effect more with their clothing, travelers' clothing and bags on their shoulders etc... but I really lost my hopes on this sketch ;P
I like it a lot, but maybe its not for this contest...
I'll try and see if I can come up with something better, if not then i'll just go with this and improve it..
Thanks for the support and the comments!! It really helps! :D
