Just doodlin... I´ve been doing some design for the "desert people", and i tought they could fit here...
Those guys are nomads and it seens like the father is trying to get things together so he can get the road (or sand...) with all the others guys.
Falaí brother... lets have some fun here!

Squibbit - Thanks mate!
LIOI - That´s the point, right? Cool website you´ve got there!
iamawizard - Thanks man. I´ll post some more things about the character later, but i´m starting to envision some new ideas for this piece. I think this is going to be cool!
ziriguidum - Good to see you too man! Good luck to you on the 3D Journey, it´s showtime! HUahuauha!
Raffael - I doubt i can win those crazy great artists here, but i´ll definitelly give it a try, hahaha! This first image i did began with the idea i was starting to work around for our Arena in CGArt... Now, tell me, where the hell is your thread mate? Take a part on the process, it´s not the destination that matters, it´s the journey (hehe... advice and challenge theme are matching...)! We have a lot to learn on this challenge, hope you take a part on this one!
Thanks everybody for the participation. Hope you all come back! Updates son!

Vader - Valeu cara! Que bom que tu gostou!
MichaelMotion - What´s up Michael? I haven´t seen any, but now that you said you did, i made a search for the term "sperm" in all posts for all challenges to see what i would find.
There is a thread about it in 3D for the Spectacular challenge, and there is this one (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=323204&highlight=sperm), also in 3D for this challenge...
It´s the same theme (sperm trying to get there), but a totally different aproach and in different categories (Dave´s one is in 3D), so i guess it wont be a problem...
Anyway, i´m still in doubt about this concept and the airport strange family... Anyone has a preference?

The latest update is absolutely super ! I would get the characters a bit bigger all over the place, but this is nice - perhaps some suitcases, bags (that has become my obsession ....)
But the idea of ordinary tourists with ordinary things surrounding them appeals to me !
Now some nice colors - a bit saturated, but not overdone and I'll be happy !

Hey Fernando! Thanks for the comments!
I´ll leave the ground line this way for now, cause i think the ground and the wall will be a little irregular, texturized and scattered, if you know what i mean...
About the perspective... I don´t think it´s wrong... I believe you are having this feeling because the table and wall lines do not converge. It´s because they are not parallel to each other... Well.. I don´t know... Does anyone else have a oppinion about this issue?

This is my new idea. I´m still brainstorming. Trying to heat the body...
this is one that my mom suggested to me when i was told her about the thread. she's an 6th grade art teacher. ... i should probbly shut up now.
i need sleep. :) love your thread dude!
couple crits...
1 that's either a very small math quiz or a very large candle.
2 the perspective of the table is off. the we're looking down on the table more than the rest of the room. but the candle persp is right. take the outside edges of the table and make them higher to correct this. hope that makes sense.
3 the room has a lot of flavor (although is needs some stuff), but the kid is pretty generic. what's his story? is this a wizard school or just pre-electric?
4 if he's a kid and the teacher isn't, he's gunna get a sore back climbing through that door.
good luck, dude!
have fun,
~B

E aí Ziriga, este é definitivo. Não vou ter tempo pra ficar brincando com concepts.... A história é meio triste mesmo... Valeu os comentários!
Anzibon, you gave some stuffs to think about...
1 - I´ll check the papper/candle proportions. At least i tought you were talking about that... You see, it´s not a quiz. It´s that paper containing your grade in all courses you have at school (i´m not able to say the right name in english... Here we call it boletim.), so i guess it can have several sides depending on the school he goes... Anyway, i´ll check it out...
2 - Elmasfeo also commented about the table perspective... I´m totally unsure about what´s wrong... I need more comments, as i don´t seen to be able to understand where is the problem... I can see something is not quite right... But i don´t get what it is! Help me, please! I´ll read yours and Elmasfeo´s post a thousend times to see if i can find out what´s the problem here...
3 - I´m having communications problems here... Sorry!
If you´re talking about the rendering i´ll still work on the boy and the background a lot! If not, this is his story:
Little Paul is a great kid! He loves to drawn, play soccer, fishing, reading and playing with his friends. But he sucks at school... He has bad grades on math, history, geography, english, chemestry, everything! When he gets another failure at the end of this year, he knows he is going to make his parents sad... He also knows that they are going to be mad at him, and he´ll be punished for that... So, he decides to leave his home, taking his great buddy Raga (the dog) with him. He is sad for leaving home, but he believes this way he will stop being such a problem to his parents. He is also scared, and don´t wan´t the punishment that await´s him. What he doesn´t know (yet) is that his parents are going to miss him so much! Hope he gets back soon!
4 - Are you saying the door is too small for an adult? I´ll have to check that too...
Gee you made my life harder, but i guess those things can make my picture better... Thanks man!
elmasfeo
04-09-2006, 04:55 PM
ok, I wasn't sure either what wasn't looking good to me, so I've painted some lines over your painting and I think I've found something:
http://www.telefonica.net/web2/chapuceros/10238_1144190455_medium.jpg
it's not clear very clear where the X axis is pointing, what I've drawed is the X axis I was seeing looking at the position of the dog and the kid's feet, although it could a different one...
the problem comes when you turn the table, there is no problem if it's not parallel to the wall, but if the Y axis of the table and the Y axis of the wall are not the same, then the X axis of the table and the X axis of the wall should be different too (with the same angle...)
as anzibon says, this makes the table look like we're seeing it from above, or that the table is tilted towards us, I don't know if I'm making myself clear...
solutions:
-ignore it, this is all based on the X axis that I've seen... and it could be a different one... it's not clear...
-make the table parallel to the wall by moving the table's Y axis counter-clockwise, you would need to re-paint the whole table again...
-turn the table's X axis clockwise, this way maybe you wont need to re-paint the whole table texture, the problem then would be the dog's position...
-turn the wall's Y axis counter-clockwise.... the "perception" of the wall's X axis will change automatically following it without changing anything else... IMO (not sure)
I'm sorry about it...I hope it helps..... by the way, the wood you painted looks very good, keep it up mate! :)
