This is the concept sketch of "The Last Journey", inspired in pictures of artists like Frank Frazetta, and bands like Rhapsody, Symphony X (The Odyssey cover art) and Blind Guardian.
The main idea is to show the fellings of parents: the call of children and despair of wife, when the father goes in a travel without any chance of return.
I'm thinking about background, like a dawn with figures in the sky, drawed discreetly by clouds and/or sunlight.

Thinking about lines, looking for something more "square-like", hard lines for the warrior's face, nothing smooth. I want to show the contrast between hardness and fellings. Inspired in comic books and references around the net, just some ideas, nothing defined yet.

This is the beginning of modeling stuff, done in a few hours, without head, hands or foot defined. I wish to use it like a base for future refinements, if I have time to study ZBrush a little. Comments and critiques are welcome. Good luck for all folks.

I'm glad u like the mood in the scene so far but of course it will change a lot over time...
Your base models look good with a low poly count so u can use lots of them in ur scene...
ur doing good.......http://www.blueferret3dfx.com/favicon.ico

Continuing with modeling, now with hands and some corrections in proportions of head and muscle definitions. Hope to finish him this weekend to go ahead. To a beginner I believe that's not so bad.
Next post will delay a little, I wish to post all characters finished, to stop boring people in forum. Good luck.

This is a new sketch, with another point of view. Now the lights and color (materials) are pre defined. Waiting for comments.

I think it will be a beter when you more concentrate on Father and Son, Mother can only figurate with face expresion like akcent on this emotion. This is becaurs you have too mach elements on jour picture and disperzing yours main idea. Sory on bad eglish, i thiq you will anderstud.
Nice concept and idea good lack

Hi msteinert, I preferred the first drawing. The boats at the horizon gave an impression of Troy.

I start to modeling the scenario background stuff, like the boats. It's not texturized yet, and I'm not sure about it, because they'll be distant from the camera. Comments please.
