Hi,
This short was made at ATI paris 8, it features Biomorphs (genetic lifeforms) for a course we have there. The main purpose was to have nice CGIs renders from lifeforms generated in python and mel language. All biomorphs have their own genom which controls a phenotype ( form, movment, scale, orientation..) and each biomorphs can be mutated, crossed with another...
Programming was mainly part of Cyrille Paulhiac and I was in charge of rendering and compositing.
Rendering was done through maya 7.0 and mental ray with help of hdri and dielectric material. Then it was heavily composited in after effects, using lenscare for bohek dof, saphire for glare..., trapcode for lightbeams and particules.
Music from Vidocq movie original soundtrack by Bruno Coulais.
