Excellent! --Really this image is complete as it is in a sense...very beautiful already. (Also your website is gorgeous -- worth checking out for others who may read this post and not be familiar with it.) Strange, this thread has had ~170 views while others not nearly as subtle but with clearly readable figures in thumbnails have already had 2,000.

Very much liked the "out of focus" blurred look. Love the calm, strong browns and greens shifting into warmer yellows. It would be interesting and challenging in itself to work with only the current palette -- looking forward to seeing your final image and where you go from this inspiring start. Good luck.

These are looking great, Benita!

2 and 4 are my favorite compositions. Something about having someone or something else in the scene appeals to me, there's a bit more story and purpose.

As for colors, the yellow ones feel too acrid and jangly for what si a very calm composition, so I like the cooler tones in 2 and 3. # is my favortie - 2 seems a bit too saturated to me - but somehwere in between them might be nice too.

All seem to have a really nice compo. I Like the second one the presence of the second charcter, speaks to me. The color scheme is different from ur use to doing! It almost seems when I think of Benita, Green is the color that comes to mind, hehe! But let me reiterate that they all have a nice feel to them, good luck c ya!:D

Hello Benita

I feel like I'm going against the grain here, but my preference is number three, given the challenge topic. Number two is an extremely interesting concept but it doesn't speak to me about "journey" so much as it does "meeting". Number two, with that muted color scheme, stirs a sense of a lonely journey about to begin - the figure is already moving away from the audience. Not all journeys are happy...

Hi Benita! Great to see you participating again, here's to hoping for a completed entry! Love the faces and your quick concept sketches. I'm inclined to agree with Tastybits, that 4 certainly reads as a journey beginning, one reads as more of a 'light at the end of the tunnel', hence end of a journey, two as more of a meetng in the middle of a journey and three is nice for mood but doesn't really say much about anything. Theres a lovely sense of trepidation in the last one. And I join in the baying for an update!! :applause:
