Ok - I thought about this a bit.

I would like to go with the following concept and try to illustrate it.
Facing your own personal challenges..even though you see pain and fear and anxiety and stress ahead of you you take the first step to overcome and confront them.

The start to your personal journay to fight your inner ghosts and limits - cross the barrier.

Even though this piece is going to be mainly about the backdrop I am starting with character concepts and in order to break lose from my normal style I decided to set the story in the future (sci-fi for teh win!).

I am settled down on the story now but I am not going to share it just yet :)

I actually didn't plan on starting already but I sat outside in the sun today and was doodling with a ball pen in my sketchbook (right) then decided to take it into PSCS (left).

She is the main character of the "story".

Your "doodles" look like a completed professional piece. My doodles need descriptions so people can see what I'm trying to show them. I guess what I'm saying is you have a great eye for human forms and have a complete mastery of that ball point of yours!:)

But it doesn't stop there. You have your values and tones so life like in your updated concept. It's just all awesome. I'm sure your entry will be no less fantastic.

Free yourself..before you can enjoy life.

Part of the story I am playing with..I haven't quite decided how to illustrate the actual journey.

Hey Tascha! This is looking great. I can't wait to hear more about the story behind this.

'Free yourself..before you can enjoy life.' sounds intriguing...I see handcuffs :D

Great work woohoo

Pretty grusome suggestion Natascha... but there are all kinds of journeys. This will be an interesting piece to watch develop.

Lovely lovely start Tascha. The expression on the face close up is great. You believe in challenging yourself! No 'elf on a unicorn setting out to find the teapot of eternal darkness' for you! You have to do a exploration of the human psyche! I love it!

BTW, I love how you slipped in: "sat outside in the sun today"! It's minus six here in Derbyshire, and I'm snowed in with a dodgy boiler!

haha - sorry Aly, I had to rub it in a bit ;)

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I am still working on some official stuff and then I am all free to focuse on this and personal things!! YAY :D

On the process I realized that this is becoming a quite personal piece and I like that fact.
Another reason I am not going to share the story behind this and let you guys discover it on the fly.

Decided to just settle it nowadays - the story will work fine without too much fancy stuff. At least I hope it will..

ah golly...
as always I have to abandon this (it's getting quite embarrassing now..)

A NDA project with tight deadlines got in between - a long with more illustrations for FFG.

I am so sorry :banghead:
