View Full Version : 2 point stabilizing low image quality Combustion
borisgoreta2000 03-01-2006, 11:57 AM I have to stabilize image sequence using two points because I need to stabilize position and rotation. I use stabilize "2-point operator". I track the points and turn on the operator and everything looks fine and is stabilized BUT the image quality is poor. There is a building in the sequence with lots of vertical high contrast lines. When the operator rotates the image to stabilize it I get jagged lines, not smooth lines as I get when manually rotating the image. It is not visible on first sight but it is definitely of lower quality then manual image rotation. Now why is that happening ?
Thanks !

Have you tried setting your viewport preview to best? At preview level there is no antialiasing. Also is this a 2D or 3D composite? Are you using OpenGL?

It is set to Best and software rendering, I have tried 2D and 3D and it is the same. Friend told me that it is a bug in Combustion 4 :(

If you dont' wan't to lose quality, make sure your 2 point stabilization isn't scaling the layer. If you are in any number of the modes which maintain "Scale" as well as rotation you'll lose quality. Same if you have a mode in which it automatically crops the image to maintain a "clean" frame. (No black around the edges from rotating) Perhaps this is the case here?
