I hear that it's going to be... (of all things) ...a love story. From Production IG's website (http://www.productionig.com/), it asks, "Can human love exist without a physical body? Mamoru Oshii depicts a man and a woman from a future world where the border between human and machine is ambiguous."

Well, unfortunately I am not allowed to comment on the story of the new film. However, if you look at the first film in a more abstract way, one might call that a love story too.
Often with Oshii's films, it takes multiple viewings to really appreciate and understand his films.

much love to the crew that brought us spirited away/mononoke
and Production I.G's done a BANG up job with the cartoon. the quality of work in those are allmost enough to be a movie themselves.

Yes! Thank you! Ah, that makes me happy. Except now I have to wait, and that makes me sad. But overall, I am much more happy than sad. Rock on!

Hopefully as things develop, I can continue to post images here.
Also, on a more interesting note, the background in the above image is all CG(with hand painted texture maps).

GITS Stand Alone Complex started airing in Japan in October. If you look around the net, I'm sure you could find some fan-sub copies.

Why do you like Ghost in the Shell?
Maybe it is a stupid question. But because i don't like it.... hum... the first ghost in the shell movie doesn't impress me. It could be base on some facts. I was still too young. i think i was like 15 year old. Which my english still suck. They have alot of talking during the moive. which i only expect it is a super action scifi anime. I never understand what was going on in the moive. maybe that's why it doesn't impress me.
