Hello peepz,

Can anyone help me with the following:
I need to create a good (plexi)glass material that uses a bitmap as reflection (no raytraced reflections), has a nice looking surface (neat highlight), does not brighten up objects behind it, and well... a material that looks like glass :)

This is my best attempt so far and it's pretty pants... :(

I need some fresh input! Anyone has an idea?

Many thanks in advance!

Ronnie

Well, I don't think it looks too bad :)
It could perhaps be a little glossier and a little more reflective, but other than that, I think it looks fine :)

I agree, it doesn't look too bad. Remember glass is basically completely transparent You could maybe map the opacity to include some sort of reinforced mesh-thing, but maybe that's too much for a cockpit. Basically what lets you see glass is the reflections and refractions. Model the glass as two surfaces (inner and outer) and raytrace it. Don't forget to lessen the reflection contribution when the glass is facing you
