And any tips, actually. I'm counting on your critical eye and experience :)
#1 This is one of my never ending WIPs (I have only such so far). I'm glad from the result, but still the face looks wrong when flipped. I would also appreciate tips on armor lightning. This is my first fur, I'll probably change it for the sepia version.

#2 To make no different thread since the character and the basic sketch are the same. This is older variant and still in a real WIP stage. The above portrait was done from this sketch. Bio note - this is character from the Silmarillion by JRRT. He has no right hand.
So far I know that his hair need more details and eyes larger pupils. I want this one to be more realistic and detailed, so any tips on hair, cloack, anatomy and armor are welcome:

Painter IX. Painted in color, apart the first face sketch - as visible. Since I don't know how to blend I painted all without any blending tools (it took ages). There are blenders in Painter's brushes set, but I am able only to spoil any drawing with them. Generally I used dry oil brushes, in the begining some pastels, in the end some airbrushing on the armor details. But I'm afraid I use every brush as an airbrush, still, for I make almost transparent strokes (low opacity). I wanted the #1 to look like a traditional drawing, so added paper surface in the end.
