More about the ideas will follow with a 3d sketch.

#6 ESCAPE / JAILBREAK
man in floodlight trying to break the wire netting outside the jail building.

this idea shows an involuntary, painful and a greyful journey to the uncertain. the journey ends, where it has begun.

I like idea no. 7 the most!!!....you could really make a grand scene there, and do some very complicated emotions in the characters faces. Frightness, sadness...."give-up-ness"

Looking forward to se more. i have to admit that none of those concepts you have made pictures for, really turns me on...;) I would go for no. 7....but that´s your decision....

Thanks, Henrik. I haven't decided yet. I will do some more 3d sketches. But I also like number 7 very much, but I would concentrate/focus only to ONE character face.
I don't think I've got the time and skills to work out a crowd :-)

a very rough 3d (ps) sketch for idea 8 : BEAM ME! man is entering a beam machine for doing a journey.

I don't like the sketch, and I don't like the idea very much, but I'm posting it anyway.

hey roman! the concepts are looking really good! might i suggest thinking of concepts for small fantasy type creatures? like cartoon bugs, hobbits, dwarves, elves etc... just to play it safe with the rules! i'll be keeping track!

Thanks for your suggestion, rj ! I have read challenge mission and faq again for being sure that my concepts fit with the guidelines.

"It is recommended that entrants focus on physically small characters (bugs, Hobbits, Elves, Children, Faeries, birds, animals, micro robots - whatever) in a foreground setting against a vast backdrop of epic proportions (by comparison)."

It is a recommendation, I think. But I will think about my concepts again ... maybe I should have more epic proportions on it.

I think that this concepts work well (but not perfect) with the guideline.

#1 WOMAN AT WINDOW
#2 THE LOST SON
#7 DEPORTATION
#9 JOURNEY OF THE DEAD

I will think about this rough concepts and new concepts and make a decision soon.

Roman.

Less time today for going forward; but I thinked a lot about my concepts and how they would work.
At the moment my favourite theme is -deportation-. I've updated the 3d sketch, very rough style. I'm not sure about how character should look like; but human.
You see prisoners on a truck passing kind of a frontier, only one will have clear facial expression and is looking to the camera. Truck drives on a cityroad, housefronts are partially destroyed; looks like a war scene. Woman with suitcase standing there, also leave (or have to leave) place she lives.
Remember; main theme is deportation (maybe I should show one or two guards/soldiers) in that scene.
I like the idea because it is a journey with a uncertain goal. do people know where journey will end (or do they know where it has began?) or doesn't it make any difference ...

Comments are very welcome. Thanks.
I will wait one or two day more before start modeling.

PS: I've got another concept idea, similar to this one. Sketch and description is coming soon.

Thanks a lot for posting, Matt ! I will watching your thread(s).

How it was written in my last posting,
I've got another idea, similiar to the -deportation- theme.

Man is walking across the street (only ruins seen everywhere), and trails a (hay) wagon totally overloaded with lot of furnishing stuff, bed, wardrobe, table, books, etc..

One nearly "final" concept,
and this new idea.
Hmmm ...

Well...seems to me u are stack with the idea of a train departure...make it a painfull or dramatic one...just a humble thought. :)

Another rough and less detailed 3d sketch (I wish I could draw, but I'm working on it) of my last idea about a man is walking across the street, ruins seen in the background, he trails a (hay) wagon totally overloaded with lot of furnishing stuff, bed, wardrobe, table, books, etc..

I've got these two ideas/concepts (deportation/wagon), and will made a decision soon.

C&C are welcome .. Thanks.
