Being my first demo reel I am fairly happy with it and can't wait to move on to other projects and make even better material for it. I am not going to say too much about it right now so I don't bias your critiques which I encourage and hope you will share.
If you have any words of wisdom or anything you think will point me in a proper direction, or if you think I am doing something wrong or catch a glitch feel free to post. I will be graduating this week so wish me luck :D

I don't normally bump my threads but I usually get a comment in the first 100 views. I am presenting this reel to some industry professionals and would like to be prepared so I need some comments.

Is it pretty slow? I figured with the small file size (only 11mb) it would be fine.

I think the animation is really good, still needs some weight in some places, but who am I to judge... I think overall it is great.. But i hate those internet characters, because you see so many bad things done with them that you dont remember whose character animation was good and whose was bad... If you model your own character it will make people remember your animations through time...
CHEERS !!!

eburdeinick - Thanks, I would love to be able to model/rig my own guys but I wanted strictly animation and didn't really have near enough time to do it all. I figured I would start with some solid rigs and get my animating up to snuff first.
Matellis - Your right it was geared towards games, i only did the lip sync last week from my teachers request but I will be doing more lip sync in my next projects.
BTW - You have a cool avatar. ;)

Nice! I think you definitely got the point across that you can animate. There were a few times where I felt that the timing was a bit off (like when he jumps to the wall and slides down a bit.. didn't feel fast enough...), but nothing a little bit of refinement wouldn't fix.
I think you'd do well to do something a little more ambitious, at least while you're waiting for replies. I'm not sure what that is, yet, but I think you were on the right track by synching the first animation to a sound file. Maybe having the character sipping his coffee in between sentences or something like that... well I dunno, I'm not an animator so I cannot offer too much advice here. Hehe.
In any event, I was impressed. :)

Heh I didn't expect this thread to be ressurected. I will definitly try and fix that spot on the landing and do some tougher shots for my next reel.
Thanks alot for your comments and critique I appreciate it. :)

Hey Phil,
I watched your whole reel and didn't notice who you were until I saw the instructors names at the end. Good job for your first reel. Keep on animating and keep in touch.
