Wow...

Really cool. I have no idea what I'm looking at, but whatever it is, it looks cool.

Sort of like the robot is all curled up inside a shell...

Love the little detailed cuts. How did you do them, btw? Oh, and can we get a shaded wireframe and perhaps some more shots?

Hey that's great, but it'd be even greater if you could answer this question of mine cause I've been wondering about this for a long time:) How do you make such creases in the model? I'm really puzzled. Mind sharing your technique? Thanks!:bounce:

Encore bravo

Thanks again all:love:
Phil "Osirus": I will search for a tutorial that I found one day (I lost the link). It explains how to build a car in nurbs in maya, and the technique for that creases. But the thing is to build a curve on surface, extrude it , then build two circular fillet between this extrude and your surface ,and then trimm your surface...I am not sure to be very clear :)..I will try to find the link for you ;)

Anyone has an idea for stranged uv coord for trimmed surface in Maya?
Thanks!

Sorry Phil "Osirus" but the link to the tutorial doesn't work anymore: http://homepage.mac.com/mikethomson/Tutorial/tutorial.html
Maybe it will rework soon...

I still have my problem with uv coordinate on trimmed surfaces...Please help!

Little update (refined the legs)

Mickey

Can't help you with the trimmed UV surface thing, but its looking awesome man. :D :D

I hope you are going to animate it, I got this cool vision in my head of when he walks that the pointy leg things will go up inside themselves a little with the weight, kinda like shock absorbers. I think that would look totally awesome. Keep it up!

Hahaha! Ric t'as bien raison!!!!
Mickey: That's exactly what I wanted to do but I still have a lot to do with the rigging of this model.(and texturing of course...still no one to help me? :hmm: )
Here are some screeshots just to show you what tthis robot is supposed to do(catch a mutant 's head in my short movie)

Thanks a lot for your feedbacks :)
