I readed the Hyperion books by Dan Simmons recently and those books have been a big influence to my recent art and here we go again. What I'm trying to achieve with this painting is to illustrate emotions and mood when the known world is coming to its end. AA cannons are shooting to skyes to protect leaving shuttles. People are crying and rioting, there's not enough ships for everybody.

The emotion conveyed through the concept should be intersting to watch! Have fun with this one.

I've been working last weeks and finally I have time for this challenge. I took some time with my first concept sketch and I wasn't satisfied so I sketched a new one and I'm pleased now. I'm aiming to illustrate a moody picture showing mother and her daughter on a journey. Its near future and they are walking in normal north american town. They are alone there. Town is destroyed and abandoned. Nature is taking its place back. Gas station's pricesign signals what might have happened couple of years ago...
