Under pressure I guess! I think I'm done texturing. Anyway are the leaves composited after the final render so you can use 2 software?

Seems like its loosing is shading at the base. I like the leaves color.

Yeah you are right, I think some changes will be done on this shader...

Under pressure I guess! I think I'm done texturing. Anyway are the leaves composited after the final render so you can use 2 software?

I could but I have exported the leaves in Maya, so no problem...

Here is the final step of the foreground...
I have reshape the ground which wasn't good enougth for me... Few rocks and the tree on the right. Still have to put some variety in the leaves of the tree.
Now, grass and Character rendering and compositing...

Thanks Antone !

looks great pepper- looks like you're going to finish! keep going buddy!

Thanks John ! Finish ? what is it ? I don't know, truely but I will work hard these two days !

Looking really good Gilles, I like the style for the landscape and the framing is great!
Now, just some small things left ... good luck

Thanks Gunnie ! ;)

Not very much things to finish but I still have to compose all of them ! I had to tweak some things because the Rootmen's leader didn't want to be rendered in 4000 X 2000 !
So I have had to redo some shaders to free some memory !

The bad thing is that some of my textures are awful with this big render ! I didn't think with this high resolution so, some of my maps are too small for that render ! I will have some painting stuff in the final image to hide to bad pixels !

oh looking nice...some variety on the leaves will make this look very cool...and well light is great, i like the warm feeling, is like a young sunset

THanks Jorge !
Yes leaves need more variety ! I will see if I have time !

gpepper

For the moment, 5 of the 7 characters are rendered. I think I will finish all the renders tonight.
Probably you will see the final composition tomorrow night ! :bounce:

The sky is rendering and the full grass too !

Don't you remember the May 20th, when you dance with Clemence (She was wearing the mocap) ? :)

As I remember you said that the dance had a name, and I hope is the "James dance", no ?

Anyway, keep going ! :)

The Final Book: The Roots' Journey: The Battle for their Land

The Roots Couldn't live in their land anymore, the whole ground was not good enough to get their resources to live. Some of them went and see the Witch but they never returned.
So the decision Makers called the whole civilisation to go and fight this Witch and his Golems.
The rumour arrived to VonderErde's ear and he sent the biggest army of Golems the world had ever seen. Earth, Ice and Fire ones...
The Roots gathered on the rising sun, the morning's dew on the forest and grass, they looked far away where the Golems' army standed and they ran to fight for their Land !

So here is the final picture !
I have to say that My photoshop crashed after 3 hours of compositing and I lost everything, so I did the compositing again in one hour !
Few things added like the mountain generated with Zbrush and rendered in it !

Clouds are Maya fluid effects...

Thanks To you too John, my friend !
I have to tell you that I let my computer do the final renders alone because I had something different to do instead of 3D this day ! (Mountain Bike racing DH)
So I didn't work today but only yesterday night until 2 in the morning and tonight...

The next one ? When ? I hope to have time, but I think that my wife won't love that very much again !

Thanks again every one !

so people, picture submit is finished but I have to show you some things again !
Here is the image composition:
Each character and element of the scene were rendered separetly. They just have the same light and ground base which was the ground with a usebackground on it.
They were composed in photoshop and few things were handpainted to hise some bad things ! huhu ! :)

http://gpepper.free.fr/cgtalk/composition.jpg

As I said before, The background was modeled and rendered in Zbrush.

Then I merge all the layer to do some adjustments. The base picture was cloned ,desaturated and contrasted and apply over the base layer with some layer mode to give more depth to the base picture.

This cloned picture was cloned again and a gaussian blur was applied to give my favourite effect !
Then two layers were here to simulate the sun and its glow !
A final layer were applied to give some orange atmosphere. Applied with a layer mode, again...

Whaouw Gilou... this "real" 3d model looks fantastic... what a chance to have this beautiful master piece in real... really beautiful...

...it's certainly funny to be able to really touch your model with your hands.

Can you talk more about the technic used... where ? and price of course :D I'm so curious...

Yeah, you can't imagine the feeling it gave to me ! It is great to see and touch in reel one of its virtual creations !
The technic is a 3D printer which mix plaster and "resine" pass by pass...
Here the price is about 150 €. But this is for free, a present from a reseller of the 3D printer system...

With this size, it's not so much expansive... but I really like your personal price :scream:

That is so cool! It must be something to hold your imagination in your hand. Is the process sophisticated enough to do all the voids and crevices of the head root man?
Great stuff!

Yeah, Glenn, a great feeling !
With this model, they didn't try to go very far, only because I gave a poor model but they can "print" very tiny details ! I saw some prints of an english designer who made a little sword carved, it was really tiny and detailed !
The other cool thing is that this 3D printer can put the texture of the 3D model in the material ! I didn't give it to them, but it would have been cool if I did it !
