Hehe.... Your thread is looking like a personal daily sketch... It´s full of greating paintings, and i must say you evolved a lot from the time a first meet you, in an avatar war (God, it was good to kill ya!)

If i were you i would go for the chicks in a bike and the rider dude pic. It has a kinda "Symon Bisley Heavy Metal Magazine" feel to me, if you wanna know. You know that can´t be bad don´t ya?

I guess I'm psychic- you did the hunchback with his desperate lover after all...

Gotta say I really like the atmosphere of this one. I love the background and hey the flowers turned out well! The whole scene looks so peaceful, fun and summery!

I think I figured out what you thought was wrong with the flowers. The hill is sloping but the light keeps shining evenly over the flowers?

Still prefer the bike/soul concept. :)

I'd really like to see this one finished though. What to doooo...?

Squibbit
03-15-2006, 07:24 AM
hmm yea i see now some details i missed, like the kite line being coiled around the boy's
forearm; also didn't consider that the propeller might sever the line, sending just the
kite on the journey, instead of teh plane snatching up the boy with the kite (and the dog
too, of he held on to the leash)

ah well, back to the sketchin

thanks for the comments, people!

Cool concept! I think this one has TONS of potential. It's a sketch right now, but I can imagine it with squib treatment turning out REALLY well. Needs a bit more value twisting and lighter fog in the distance and stuff, but all that comes later!

u know the old story of the prince dat
been transformed into a frog by evil
magik and only the kiss of a princess
would turn him back into his former self?

yea it went sumthin like dat , ok well
this princess don't find the right man
like from anywhere and goes to this seer
for help and the seer sends here on a
big trip thru the whole world to kiss
de frog, cause he'd be like perfect for
her.

unlucky, de princess' breth stinks like
sewers and even the frog is disgusted and
sends her away - her journey back home
begins.

is not like frogs like human girls

i thought the bg might need a lil sumthin
in this concept, didn't know what though..
this is around version 5-11, depending
how u look at it.. heh

since it came up with this concept earlier,
the music that played while this pic was
made were Metallica's "Kill 'Em All" CD,
The Hellacopter's "By the Grace of God" CD
and finally Vangelis' "One More Kiss Dear",
a song from the Bladerunner soundtrack :)

yea i can guess why, having just been to their site :)

- - -

this version didn't turn out quite as well as i had hoped, in part due
to my computer suddenly restarting in midsketching and destroying
so 20 minutes of work that i had to redo pretty much half-hearted,
ruined much of the depth in the image in the process.
Also i had to hurry to catch the last subway train of the day so i
hadn't the time for color corrections and stuff

thanks mike and reza for stopping by

It's a cool pic but the background and foreground don't seem to tie in at all- the people are totally oblivious to all the stuff that's happening behind them. It would make more sense if the fella was running away from the skull-cloud and the women were waiting for him....

All in all I preferred the atmosphere of the original though. :)

8-if yes,so why she's eating that hand??couldnt she find something better to eat?or couldnt she wait for the man to come up so she could eat the whole of him....not only his hand???
9-what you say to a pink rabbit when its at night???

7-do the pink rabbits eat man flesh?? I dunno, it could be just trying to vomit the chewed
up tongue it bit off the sea bird to the finger it views as a helpless , starving worm
8-if yes,so why she's eating that hand??couldnt she find something better to eat?or couldnt she wait for the man to come up so she could eat the whole of him....not only his hand??? It's a he and he knew he wouldn't be match for the dude even if he was without

bunnies aren't as uncommon a sight as on earth u know

but thought it would take too much time to paint the dude like
laughing hard and about to lose his grip because the licking
tickled so much)

Well well, that's a good concept but I think it's lacking a squirrel, maybe a penguin too, and a panda, but definatly a squirrel.

Also 'orava' is one of the only two Finnish words I know, and since you're from Finland this can't be a coincidence ... I think ... maybe.

Oh and what about a lemon licorice cow? Just to add some happiness.

Allright, I better shut up now and paint a bit. Good luck with the challenge.

That one is very original with the concept of the soul saving it's own body..lots to take in. Your latest work is good too but I think my favorite is the boy with the kite. Hey Zep, nice to see u again, too, I
gotta say i been real busy with all
sortsa lil other stuff and we started
doin those good old 10 hour days at work
again, not for getting to stop in for a
few hours on saturdays too, of course,
so I haven't much time for this

nevertheless, since you stopped by and

Squib, you make no sense whatsoever, but I'm honoured you did that concept for me... *curtseys* Why is the fly crying? And that brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "Holy pants, my tongue feels like a carpet this morning" and thats the first sword-nosed doplhin I've ever seen and... well...

You, my friend, are crazy. Good to hear they are keeping you off the streets with a bit of hard-nosed labor.

Why is the fly crying? and thats the first sword-nosed doplhin I've ever seen and... well...

what, can't be that difficult to understand: the fl'y crying cause the dude is leaving for a
voyage and one might presume from the similarity of his boat with Columbus' boats that
he's planning to find land from where no one believes there is

yea i was wonderin the sword nose of the dolphin too

Hockeyland! LOL, well we weren't exactly hockeyland this year... except for the ladies of course. On the local front our favourite hometown goalie is from Finland: Miikka Kiprusoff. But alas the Calgary Flames got knocked out... even the mighty Mikka couldn't save that group of plumbers from elimination.

You have put out another fun thread this go around. Nice work. So which concept are you going to fill out? Lots of great options. Cheers.

Yea dude, with Selänne and buddies playing like they do now, even Kipper must yield.
Just look how Anaheim's gunning down Colorado Avalanche, three wins straight, two
shutouts, and they haven't lost once. I hope they make it to the Cup :)

okay so people of Wassamatta had been
sacrificing to the sea god Oen for like
ages and then new religion comes to town.

Heedless of warnings by the old seaman
Lobstrous, all old religions are abandoned.
Months go by, a year , things go better
than ever before in Wassamatta and the
new religion takes firm root in town.

By this time Oen awakens from its slumber,
hungry beyond belief, totally insane
from lack of sacrificial food and sends
his winged seahorses to wreak havoc
amongst the mortals who betrayed him.
The beasts arrive and the town goes into
chaos. All who are caught outside are
eaten by the seahorses, the monsters
even fish people from their houses via
the chimneys and windows with their
long, slim tongues.

Old seaman Lobstrous witnesses this horror
he had seen coming from the confines of
his spell-guarded lighthouse.
He has to save the people of his village,
those who are still hiding in their
houses or in the wilderness around.

He sends a messenger to fetch the only
person who can stand against the beasts
of Oen, Lady Brittany Embers, a most
reknown adventurer and hero in the
nearby lands.

Having gotten the Summons, the Lady
immediately gathers up her adventuring
gear and starts her journey to Wassamatta,
where yet another adventure awaits.

So the woman gotta go to war and she leaves
the man and pig home, cause of course they
don't fight.
Now pig is in trouble cause the man heard
his neighbour say pigs make for great
steaks and he only eaten parsley n stuff
before so he really wanna find out.
The lady's very good friends with the pig,
always protecting him and feeding
him rotweilers, but now she's leaving
and the pig is feeling mighty insecure.
Will the pig find out he got wings on his
back before the man makes foodstuff
